Overview
QuickAI (“the Extension”) is a browser extension that provides AI-powered text tools such as summarization, translation, rewriting, and grammar correction. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data the Extension handles and how.
Data Collection
QuickAI does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information. We do not track your browsing activity, collect analytics, use cookies, or maintain any user accounts.
Text Processing
When you select text and choose a QuickAI action, the selected text is sent directly from your browser to the Groq API (api.groq.com) for processing. This communication happens over HTTPS. The text is sent solely to generate the AI response you requested and is not stored by the Extension.
API Key Storage
If you provide a Groq API key, it is stored locally in your browser’s extension storage (chrome.storage.local). The key never leaves your device except when authenticating with the Groq API. It is not sent to any other server.
Usage Counter
The Extension maintains a local daily usage counter stored in chrome.storage.local. This data stays entirely on your device and is never transmitted anywhere.
Third-Party Services
The only third-party service the Extension communicates with is the Groq API (https://api.groq.com). Please refer to Groq’s Privacy Policy for information on how they handle data sent to their API.
Permissions
The Extension requests the following browser permissions: contextMenus (to add right-click menu items), storage (to save your API key and usage count locally), activeTab (to display results on the current page), and scripting (to inject the result panel). These permissions are used solely for the Extension’s core functionality.
Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or share any user data with third parties. The Extension does not contain any advertising, analytics, or tracking code.
Children’s Privacy
The Extension does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
